This is an article we just read in the LCM research team, written by Sherry Turkle, and discusses how there is no “right way” to solve a problem. Of course when I went to MCM a few weeks ago, I encountered my first “problem.”
Hello, My name is Angela and I am the winter quarter LCM intern! I go to the Preuss School, a high school located on UCSD, which is awesome, because I have had so many opportunities to see college students and get to see what life is like on campus. I have been helping LCM with their facebook page, researching more ways to stay connected to the community, and doing other office stuff (like bonding with the copy machine!!) I’m excited to be learning a lot while making a difference for kids in San Diego!
“Hey that’s just like my phone,” a young LCM participant exclaimed, showing Romina her phone and comparing the similarities and differences between the two.
Romina recently joined the LCM team, volunteering weekly at the Casa Familiar site in San Ysidro, which is where she too, grew up. It is to her, “a place where immigrant/ trans-fronteriso families, like my own, settle with hopes of more opportunities.
